winter wedding guest dresses

I've had a lot of requests once more for this poem about growing up on Tyneside in the sixties. Taken from my book 'The prince of words collection' winter wedding guest dresses http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/ASSN/B01J6A4BP4
Please feel free to share.

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF MY HOME TOWN.

The ferries on the river,
With cranes along the way,
Cardboard in my playshoes,
Another rainy day.

Coal trucks near the cokies,
Blackberry bushes either side,
Toughened little street kids,
With our eyes all opened wide.

Hiding under the table,
As the rent man taps the door,
To pretend our house is empty,
But I think he knew the score.

Chips from Finchale fish shop,
With extra batter please,
Washed down with juice or pop,
And served with mushy peas.

The fortyseven bus,
That took you to the town,
Everyone dressed up,
We could hardly have dressed down.

Or a day at South Shields beach,
With towels for a seat,
Then building castles in the sand,
That really was a treat.

In the summer, our weekends,
Were football in the park,
We'd go just after breakfast,
And return before it's dark.

Tyneside in the sixties,
Not frilled, not gold, not pearled,
Just the way it used to be,
I wouldn't change it for the world.
